Whats the best haircut for a guy with short hair and a diamond shaped face?

Im 14 and I haved tried hundreds of hairstyles but I cant seem to get the right for me. Please dont give me a website of hairstyles give me your oppinion!Whats the best haircut for a guy with short hair and a diamond shaped face?
Here is what L.S.Trusty recommends:

';Diamond: The diamond face is wide at the eyes and cheekbones and narrow at the forehead and chin. Its oblique jawbones taper sharply to a pointed chin. Minimize the top hair and maximize the hair at the sides. A low side part is recommended.

L.S. Trusty, ';The Art and Science of Barbering'; 8th ed, pg 131.

http://a.imagehost.org/0619/f_TrustyFace鈥?/a>

I will add that he was referring to above the ear barber shop styles when he wrote the above. I will also add that he means to maximize the hair at the upper sides not the entire sides since that would only reflect the diamond shape. The idea behind male face and skull shape analysis with respect to choosing a style is to determine where to maximize/minimize the hair in various parts of the head to try and create the illusion of the perfect oval face shape with a more masculine boxy than feminine rounded skull shape. And when Trusty states a low side part he doesn't really mean low, he means a regular side part as opposed to a higher than regular side part.

Good Luck!

  • Would getting a haircut make my hair stay straighter longer?

My hair is just below my shoulders and even when I straighten it, a few hours later it's wavy. Would getting my hair cut and thinned out make it stay straight?Would getting a haircut make my hair stay straighter longer?
Im not sure but i dont think it would. It depends on your hair type I guess.

Can scalp start itching if you havent had a haircut in a while?

like could your scalp bcome unhealthy if it hasnt been cute in 8 monthsCan scalp start itching if you havent had a haircut in a while?
Your scalp shouldn't itch due to the length of your hair or time since you've had a haircut, but it could for other reasons. Does your scalp usually feel better after a haircut? If so, they might be using a shampoo that works good with your skin...and it could also be you aren't scrubbing your head well enough when you wash your hair. Make sure your really massage the shampoo into the scalp. I would recommend a product like Nutragena (sp?) which helps with flakes and itching. You could have regular dandruff, or a condition like sebborhic eczema, which causes flaking and itching. Go ahead and switch shampoos, and if the itching continues, see a dermatologist. Can scalp start itching if you havent had a haircut in a while?
Sounds more like a skin problem to me. Take it from someone who knows. The best thing you can do right now is to get a medicated shampoo like Denorex or Selsun Blue. Use that for a while since it sounds like you have some skin issues. Check with a professional stylist to see what you should do after that. Sounds like you have longer hair, but the length shouldn't cause your head to itch. If it's greasy, there might be some repercussions from that.
I dont think it's due to not having a haircut... unless it hasnt been washed. I think itchy scalp is usually due to it being dry. I would suggest that you wash it with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
No the ends of your hair does not affect the scalp, unless you had your head shaved and as your was growing back in it might itch but not after 8 months.

What is a Good/Popular shorter haircut for teenage guys?

I'm really tired of my long hair and I want a short haircut. I've never cut my hair short so I don't know what to tell the stylist when I go tmw. So any suggestions/tips for a shorter haircut style would be nice.

Thanks. What is a Good/Popular shorter haircut for teenage guys?
I agree :) Long hair on guys needs to be gone and leave the locks for the ladies! :)

Depends on you for the hair style. Some people look good with spikey hair, some with buzzed some with it just gelld. :)

How much does it cost to get a haircut in the Philippines?

    In Philippine Peso please.

I'm getting a haircut there, I'm going to my homeland(Philippines) on June 4th! %26lt;33How much does it cost to get a haircut in the Philippines?
You could get a regular barber cut for about P50. If you want to look good you could go to a nice place like Bench Fix and get a haircut for about P250 (washed hair, haircut, and style).

If you want a top notch haircut then you could pay around P450 ($9) and get a celebrity type hairstyle with a wash, haircut and style. P450 is a lot cheaper than a regular barber cut ($15) in the US.

Of course a really great salon cut in the US will cost you $50 so P450 ($9) is a bargain in the Philippines compared to the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!How much does it cost to get a haircut in the Philippines?
Cheapest ones, from barbers or beauty salons along the streets will cost 30-50 pesos.

The high-end ones usually located in malls, like Ricky Reyes, will cost you 100-500 pesos. But this comes complete with shampoo, back, head or arm massages and sometimes even scalp treatment. In USA, this will cost you hundreds of dollars, with $20 on haircut alone.
It depends on where you want to have your haircut done.

There are shops who will only charge you Php50.

Most salons in the mall will charge you an average of Php300 - Php400. I had my haircut done by Bench Fix just last month and it cost me Php350.

In upscale salons, it will cost you around Php700. In 2007, I had my haircut done in Manila Peninsula's salon and it cost me Php750. They offered a refreshing drink though.

By the way, the norm is that aside from the haircut fee, you have to give them a tip as well.
I go to Bruno's Barbershop they charge it at 180.

Before I'm getting a haircut at news barbers and GQ they 100 and 90 respectively.

All of these btw, are in malls.
Php30 is the cheapest if you get a cut at the local barbershop. More expensive in brand-name salons, but of course you get more pampered. Ask if they have special discounts for students.
Depends where you're gonna get your haircut. Some, only 40php, other salons may charge you 100-200 for a haircut, but these salons are quite popular. There could be more expensive ones and cheaper ones.
    40 pesos

    around 150 - 200 pesos inside malls
About 200-300 hundred in most malls. I was a little freaked out by the head massage, I was not expecting it. You may like it.
    It depends.

There are cheap salons, usually it cost Php 30 - 50 but if you go to salons like Ricky Reyes, Propaganda, Cielo and etc. it cost Php 100+ and up.
    like $1.50
For men, the haircut costs Php 40.00 Im not sure about the women :D
if you go to like high end salon, about 500 pesos. my aunt has a salon i think she charge 45 pesos with style

How hard is it to give yourself a haircut?

Im getting bored of just having to pay 15 dollars for a simple buzz cut I can probly do at home.

How hard would it be just to give yourself a buzzcut at home with a haircutting kit?

I usally cut it with a number one.How hard is it to give yourself a haircut?
The difficult part that makes the cut look professional is designing the edge and tapering it to the skin at the nape, which is not going to happen with a self cut home haircut. Most guys suit a short pomp style-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut- more than a butch so if one goes to a barber and he charges the same regardless of style, it's a good idea to experiment with other short buzzed styles. A #1 butch can be difficult with home clippers because the scalp can gather between the widely set teeth of a clipper guard. This will leave the hair randomly longer or shorter and the haircut will look splotchy and uneven. A barber does not use clipper guards for a haircut this short but a #1A rotary blade. Blades have very closely set teeth and the scalp does not gather between the teeth. For a home butch cut it is safer not to go shorter than #4 on top and #2 on the back/sides. Here is the general technique. With a butch cut, the upper sides and top are cut the same length.

1)Start at the right sideburn with the #4 guard on the clipper. Guide the clipper up the side of the head till it runs off as the skull curves to the top. Continue to the mid back and then do the same starting at the left sideburn.

    2) Place the #3 clipper guard on the clipper and again start at the right sideburn and work to the middle back. Guide the clipper up the side and back of the head to a point about and inch below where the side curves to the top. Arc the clipper out of the hair to achieve a taper between the two lengths. Do the same starting at the left sideburn and working around to the middle of the back.

    3) Place the #2 clipper guard on the clipper and again start at the right sideburn and work to the middle back. Guide the clipper up the side and back of the head to a point a little above the top of the ear and start to arc it out of the hair to create a taper between the #3 cut hair and the #2 cut hair. Arc the clipper out of the hair to achieve a taper between the two lengths. Do the same starting at the left sideburn and working around to the middle of the back.

4)Put the #4 guard back on the clipper and working from the front hairline cut, to the back of the crown. Repeat till the entire top is cut.

    5) Trim the sideburns off at the point where the ear cartilage attaches to the skull. Sideburns should be at this length:

    http://a.imagehost.org/0334/butchclassic…

    6) Wash and dry hair.

    7) Barely dip fingertips in a jar of krew comb or a traditional butch wax like lucky tiger cru butch, or any of the wide variety of control waxes presently available.

    8) Transfer wax to palms.

    9) Smooth wax over the top of the hair.

    http://a.imagehost.org/0203/fmaxfactorcr…

10)Use a boar's bristle military brush or a butch comb to brush hair back off the forehead.

    short ivy league:

    http://www.gstatic.com/hostedimg/3b4b3c0…

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side, if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form the short pomp front, or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

I would not recommend going shorter than #4 on top with a #3, #2 taper on the back/sides at first. In a few haircuts, as skill develops, go shorter if one wishes.

well, having given myself haircuts occasionally, i can say first hand doing it decently is very difficult. The front might be a little easy, cause you can look in a mirror, and use both hands, etc. the back, you have to either go by feel (which is usually disaterous) or you need to stand in front of a mirror, holding another mirror, to get a reflection of your relection to see what you're doing.

    using a clipper, which it sounds like you're going to do, is easier, BUT again, for the back you can go by feel, or mirror reflection of mirror reflection. Is it doable? yes, is it doable WELL, er, maybe. if you're really going to do your own, have somebody that can look it over and ';clean it up';
do u live in an area large enough to have a beauty school? they will wash, cut, color, whatever, to your hair for next to nothing (like 5 bucks) because they are learning. look in the phone book for beauty schools or schools of cosmetology.

My hair used to be just about shoulder length. I got it cut and its a bit too short. It's cut to my ear. And I don't like it. I want it to grow out quickly. Can anyone help? How can i grow out a too short haircut?
You cant make your hair grow any faster than it does, but you could always try putting in a cute clip at the side or something to make you feel more comfortable with it till it grows out!How can i grow out a too short haircut?
All you can do is to get some hair extensions until it grows back more
How can we help your hair to grow more quickly? It's impossible.

Think about having some extensions put in if you're that desperate!
How to grow how hair fast

-drink 8 glasses of water a day

    -eat more veggies and fruits

-basically hair is made up of protein so eat alot of protein(its found in nuts, lean meat (fish, chicken ect)oatmeal...basically have a balanced diet

-jello has a lot of protein in it so eat jello or yogurt

    - when you wash your hair deep condition it

-massage hair daily for five minutes (stimulation for hair...helps it grow a little)

    - take pictures monthly to see the increase of growing

remeber what you eat determines how fast and how long your hair is
    Extensions can do it.

but if you get it trimmed slightly a couple times, then it will grow quicker. but you mainly need to be patient
You can go to a hairdresser that uses hair extensions that is the only way you cannot force your hair to grow quicker than it normally does
Only thing you can do is wait for the hair to grow back. In the meanwhile, you can use some little clips, or try flipping your hair out at the ends. You can buy any hair putty to do that.
WTF...lol...sillyness is your middle name isnt it..go on admit it....
sorry there is no way to grow your hair quicker....keep eating vitamin e though it makes hair grow back glossier and sleeker.......if your desperate but do-it-yourself extensions from claires.......they are not expensive but come in all sorts of styles like straight wavy and curly......and they are easy to put in at home
use a lengthening or streghtening shampoo %26amp; take vitamins
It will grow fast, but you won't think it's fast since you want it to grow. Taking vitamins and using good products on your hair will keep it healthy so the roots will grow. Eat healthy and take vitamins and it will grow.

How much do I tip for a free haircut?

My best friend from high school is now the manager at a local hair salon and she does my family's hair for free. Myself, my husband, and our 3 year old daughter. I always tip her but I don't know how much to give her. The average price for a cut is about $15, sometimes I have my hair highlighted and that costs about $50. I really need some ideas on how much I should give her to compensate for the time she spends on our hair. How much do I tip for a free haircut?
Well for your kid and husband, they are probably easier... so I would just pay her $5, and you maybe $8-$10, she's doing it for free, so it might be nice to be generous. but a normal 15% would be about $2.25 for a haircut, and $7.50 for highlighting. How much do I tip for a free haircut?
Tip as though you were paying for it -- between 15 %26amp; 20% of whatever that visit would have cost.

The main way, however, is to invite her for dinner, do small favors, now and then give her little tokens of your gratitude.
I would give her what you think the cut is worth!

    at least 拢10 to 拢20 (about $20 $30 I think)

You sound cheap only giving that much!!!
Despite being free, one always tips 15% of the pre-tax charged amount for any routine service given by a hairdresser, mechanic, etc.
I would give her about a 15%-20% on what everything would have cost

and thank you note would also be nice since she does it for free!!!
I would give her a $2 or $3 tip for regular hair cuts. For highlights and such, about $5.
If she's a good friend, you should just get her a gift.

there is no angle on a asymmetric haircut, - the baseline is to be used where the hair is unevenly balanced, e.g where there is a side parting and a larger volume of hair on one side of the head, or where the hair is swept off the face at one side with fullness of volume on the other.

How old was your child for their first haircut?

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and her hair is finally just about to her shoulders. I've only had to trim her bangs a tiny bit, but she's a cutie.. When did your child need that first haircut? How old was your child for their first haircut?
Just a month after her 2nd birthday. I got it cut because it was fairly uneven at the bottom, but mainly because hair brushing had turned into a nightmare. I was chasing her around the house with a hairbrush while she screamed and even tried to hide from me sometimes - and I was really gentile with her.

We took her hair from about should blade length to a ';short bob';. It's really cute. It looks better and is much easier to manage. It was a very good decision. We were sad to lose ponytails and pigtails, but she can still wear cute barrettes. How old was your child for their first haircut?
With my boys - they each got their hair cut around 12 months old. My daughter is almost 18 months and I don't plan on getting it cut. She was born with tons of hair and hasn't lost any of it. It is down to her shoulders now - all the way around. I don't want to cut it and give her bangs b/c I remember what a PAIN they are! So, we'll see. I'm thinking maybe when she's 2 we'll finally go and get it cut. We'll see!
For my oldest it was 3 years. At the time we were living in Israel (for my work) and orthodox Jews dont cut a young boy's hair until he is 3. Its a big celebration when they do cut it. I was told by a rabbi that it has to do with a biblical reference. I am not Jewish but I went along with the local custom.... and i kept it going with my other kids.
3 years. Yep...everyone thought we were crazy for waiting so long and her hair was past her behind, but I dreaded the first haircut visit. We went to this really cute place called Kidz Cuts. It was bright, every station had a TV and there were lollipops and cookies to bribe the kids to sit in the chair!!

    Good Luck!
My daughter was born with a ton of hair! LOL! She needed her hair cut when she was 1. Had to trim away all the ';baby'; hair! LOL! Her hair is curly, so it wasn't until she was three that it actually had any length to it :)
My daughter was born with a lot of hair, her first haircut/trim was when she was 6 weeks old. Her bangs were in her eyes, she got all of the ends trimmed.
8 months, but don't cut her hair unless you are sure that is what you want.
My daughter turned 2 March 31st and she just got her first hair cut 2 weeks ago.
I waited until my son was 17 months old and had a serious mullet before I finally had to take him in for his first cut. He did surprisingly well too. Didn't cry at all. But I did! =)
Probably whenever there hair is really long! Don't Rush It:)
I only have my girls bangs cut. They both needed them trimmed around 18 months.
    ask her!

i hated my hair cut be sure she wants it too. =]

What should i do if i get a haircut and i dont like it afterwards?

i got layers and my hair is naturally curly so its getting really poofy! help! what should i do?What should i do if i get a haircut and i dont like it afterwards?
well, at first if you want to get a haircut you should know that you really wanted to be like that, you can wear a wig for a time so it grows, than you can cut it, how, i don't know, go to a good hairstylist that can help you. What should i do if i get a haircut and i dont like it afterwards?
ask for a last minute redo.
go to a salon and try and get it straightened or get a perm

    and put back into layers
not much you can do but let it grow back out. Look around for hair styles like yours and make a change if possible
You can try to have it corrected, but you can not add any length. There are nice short haircuts too, especially if you want something easy when you are in a hurry to get to work.
Go to a curly hair specialist for a curl cut. No kidding! My family owns a salon and we have people who are specially trained to cut curly hair.

Most hairdressers screw up curly hair by cutting layers into it, or cutting it all the same length at the bottom, which makes it bell-shaped. My curly hair is down to my waist and totally manageable due to the special cut which takes out thickness, but not length, and doesn't add layers.

Also, if you end up with a cut you aren't satisfied with, go back and complain - nicely. The salon wants your business and any reputable place will bend over backwards to correct the problem. If they don't, find a better salon. When you find a good hairdresser, you'll see that curly hair can really be beautiful and doesn't NEED to be straightened all the time!

    Good luck!
girl your screwed gotta let it grow...i have teh same prob. right now i got mine cut at waly world and they didnt do so hot so i have to let it grow and them when its long enough ill do soemting with it
ummmmmmmmm i would suggest straighten it!!!
Try a Ceramic Flat Iron it would look great if your hair is thick with layers! Also, you could try flipping the back all up with some side swept bangs, really cute!

How can I get my mom to wait to go out to get me a haircut?

My mom wants me to go out to get me a haircut this weekend. She thinks my hair is too long. I dont think so. The Christmas break is coming so I want to get her to let me wait until the break to get the haircut. Anybody got any ideas of things I can say to her to get her to wait? How can I get my mom to wait to go out to get me a haircut?
Tell her you want it longer for Locks for Love :)

Or tell her it is YOUR hair (well it is) and that it is your idea if you want it cut.How can I get my mom to wait to go out to get me a haircut?
How long is it exactly ?

Do NOT cut it yourself!!!!!!!!!! And don't ask for an emo haircut or your hair dresser will think you are a freak! google ';emo boy hair'; the click on images. find one you like (preferably one were the the guy in NOT wearing eyeliner, so the hair dresser wont think ur weird). then dye it brown or black. oh, and all you people who keep writing something like ';oh emos are fake'; or ';Why would u want to be emo';, STOP IT!!!!!! if u dont like emos, then why are u even looking at this question??????? • How old was your child for their first haircut?

What do u think is the best haircut for Havanese dogs?

I have a Havanese dog and normally we would get him puppy cuts. And I know that there are any other haircuts for Havanese dogs, do u happen to know some? Answer and put a link with a picture of it if u can. Thanks! What do u think is the best haircut for Havanese dogs?
there are a few different styles you could do, make it look like a schnauzer or a cocker spaniel body with a teddy bear face or like a westie clip or a puppy cut about 1 inch all over it just depends on what you think is cute find a groomer that your pet likes and ask them for advice any good groomer should be able to be creative and give you advice on what might look good on your dog What do u think is the best haircut for Havanese dogs?
It all depends upon your preference...

As one user said...cut him short if you are not showing him...

    I take the opposite tack...

I am a professional dog groomer. I currently own 4 dogs so I don't have the time to ';muss and fuss'; (and my breeds don't require it anyway) . If, however, I only had 1 dog...a Havanse or Maltese of Shih Tzu, etc...I would brush and comb it daily and keep the long coat. Make sure especially around the ears, neck, armpits...take the collar off at night...It is not practical, I know, but it is beautiful. It only works though if you are willing to spend 1/2 - 1 hour per day grooming the dog properly. THen all the groomer needs to do is bath, brush, blow dry and comb, clean up the eyes, paws, ears, face.....and you won't beed it done as frequently as dogs that are allowed to get matted up to the skin!!!

    GOod luck..

I have no pictures on hand...sorry...

If you are looking for practical..get what they call a ';kennel clip'; - one length all over....short....but you can ask for face, tail, ears to be left longer if you desire.

    GOod luck
I love the personality of a havanese. They are so sweet.
Do short haircuts if you aren't planning on showing him.
I haven't had any problems with my havanese.

  • What haircut would you recommend for me?

I have relatively thick hair, its more or less straight (wavy in some areas) and is a mousy kind of colour. At the moment its just below shoulder length and i have a side fringe (was a full fringe but its grown out a bit so i'm sweeping it to the side). I have delicate features and a heart shaped face - what would be the best hair style/cut for me?What haircut would you recommend for me?
Having a heart shaped face means you can go with a really short crop and get away with it. You could also have a long do with some slight curls. I'd advise you to stay away from having too much volume, you might drown your face in it.What haircut would you recommend for me?

The two websites listed below each have a picture of a gypsy shag. Hope this helps.Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a short gypsy shag haircut?
its a 70's thing. Do a web search for 1970's shag haircut
try google search or yahoo search. or talk to another beauty expert who can show you pictures that you will understand
    ask jeeves or google searches.
I tried... Can't find it for ya... Sorry. Good luck!
All of your hair is pushed forward - that's a shag. As for the gypsy part, I think that means you wear a handkerchief on your head. I don't quite get it, either. A hairsylist should be able to show you a picture. Salons have a million of those.
do a google search for egyptian hair styles

How can I get my son a haircut without him screaming?

He 2 1/2 and hates to have his haircut. He cries and screams and we just have to hold him still. We've tried everything from distracting him with his favorite toys to offering m%26amp;m's to bribing him with a trip to the store to buy a new toy if he is good during the haircut. The girl who cuts it tried once to let him sit and watch cartoons while she cut it, but that didn't work either. Any ideas? It's exhausting for all of us!!How can I get my son a haircut without him screaming?
try this. have the person that is cutting his hair let him hold and feel the devices that are going to cut his hair. this way the child can see for himself that they are not going to hurt him. sometimes with kids like this, it helps if you introduce the things to them first before you use them. hope this helps. good luck. How can I get my son a haircut without him screaming?
Where is he getting his hair cut?

My son always sits better at the salon than he does at home.
Some cities have hair salons just for kids. Try seeing if there is one in your city. They are good to kids and know how to deal with them.
Try looking for a place that specializes in kids haircuts....we take my son to a place like that and they are very good about working around his head turning and other issues.
Sometimes the sound of the clippers are scary to kids at that age. Especially when they are coming toward their head.

I think you should let him hold the clippers, and let him turn them on and off. If that still doesn't work, maybe try hand cutting with scissors.

Also, a special towel for his eyes will help keep him more comfortable too...
    A lollipop during the cut.
Try looking for a salon that is especially designed for kids. Where I live there is a salon that has airplanes and carousal horses for the kids to sit on, and the hairdressers deal with children all day so they usually have a couple of tricks up their sleeves.
Try taking him to one that is just for kids. my son had so much hair that he had his first haircut at 8 months and was good for the first few at the two year old mark he cried so much and had to sit in my husbands lap. He got a cookie and lollipop after and hasn't cried since he is now 31 months old.

    momof4
try doing it yourself at home
try giving him a lollipop when he sits down on the chair. and let him know if he throws a fit you will take it away. or give him a doll and have him cut the doll's hair. see, the doll doesn't cry!
Maybe if you or your hubby or both sat across from him and got your hair cut also , Or at least faked it

I used to cut my kids bangs while she was sleeping

Or maybe wait till hes a little older and just let it grow for now,,,

Sounds like you have tried everything else
Lollipop? My kids knew it is supposed to come ';after'; the haircut, but it sure kept them entertained well DURING the haircut!

good luck, and, he WILL grow out of it, hopefully sooner rather than later!
try showing him it's not scary maybe. have him cut a strand of your hair once. but dont let him get carried away. lol
Will he sit on your lap during a haircut? We do this with our 18 month old and it helps. Also, try taking a break halfway thru the haircut. Let him run around for a few minutes and then have the stylist finish the cut. Good luck.
    Chloroform.

I need to get a haircut. I'm a 18 year old boy with red hair down to my upper jaw. I need one badly. So please help. I don't want to have my hair short, like a medium lenght would be great, but I don't know what to have done. I'd love to get on of those ';emo'; haircuts or something, but I don't know what to pick. The internet's not helping me at all.How should I go about choosing a haircut?
Why not go to a Stylist that shows books and books of various hair cuts and choose based on images you like and the stylists suggestions about your face, structure, hair type, etc?

The internet is a good place to start, but a real person is the best source of information. How should I go about choosing a haircut?
Alright cut of most of it and leave a couple inches long and put on gel and stand them up, you would look super cool!

    Have fun!
here's a fun idea: either learn yourself or get a friend who knows how to use Photoshop or some other editing program and put your face on different haircuts. Its fairly easy and you can manipulate the photos to match your face pretty well. Just get a clean frontal face picture and go to town!

Should glasses be kept on during the haircut?

I recently started to wear my glasses all the time. I am about to have my hair cut in a few days. Should I keep my glasses on during the haircut or take them off?Should glasses be kept on during the haircut?
yes leave them to protect you earsShould glasses be kept on during the haircut?
I always take them off--but I can still see well enough to point out how much I want cut off.
It depends what hair cut you are letting to do, but honestly i think it would'nt be polite to wear them when you're going to hairdresser. :)
TAKE Them off, what if the barber pokes them + glasses shatters in your eye
My hairdresser makes me take mine off when she has to do the sides, but otherwise, they are left on. I have to see what she is doing, right? But she ususally knows what I want and does such a good job I don't really need to.

I think it is up to whomever is cutting your hair. Can they work around it? And will they let you stop every now and then to put them back on and look at what they are doing?
off. i think they want you to take you glasses off during a cut anyway.

why would you leave them on? do you change glasses depending on how your hair looks?
i take them off - glasses get in the way when getting your hair cut - depending how long your bangs are you could risk getting your glasses scratched inadvertantly by the comb of the scissors
Take them off, but hold them in your hand so that you can put them back on to check the progress. They get in the hairdresser's way
Off, you would hate to get home and find that your glasses were hiding some long hairs
    Take them off
I would say wear them to the appointment and keep the case handy so during the haircut you can take them off.

Your glasses may get in the hairdressers way and also if you have an Antireflective coating it could get damaged from extreme heat and/or chemicals used to style hair. Also even if you do not have any AR coating your glasses may get all gunked up with stuff. If you need to see anything just pull your glasses out of the case and put them on :)
    Take them off!!

What would look better with an emo haircut?

What would look better with a Emo Haircut? Long in Front Short in back? Or Short in front and Long in back? How short? How long? Would I be able to cut it my self or have a Stylist cut it?What would look better with an emo haircut?
I say: you should go long in the back short in front,or just long And Layer on the top so you can tease it a little,it is hard to tell because I dont know what you look like:) good luck

my friend says:well i think long in the back short in the front, well you know what or you should get a bob cut and have black hair it would look emo.and dye your bottems of your hair red or purple or pink...... good luck.....by the way my name is lillieWhat would look better with an emo haircut?
short in back long in the front or you risk it looking like a mullet ant that is probably the opposite of what you want. I suggest having a stylist cut it for you at least to start or it could go horribly wrong and you would have no one to blame but your self. Find pictures similar to what you want, show them to your stylist and say you want it like that with lots of choppy layers and really textured. Your probably going to have to spend ages on your hair in the mornings after you get it cut though...

    hope this helped...

    tash xx
keep your layers short and chopy at the top, and with emo cuts they can be uneven so you dont need a stylist but i still would go to one. and keep it long and sleek under neath. as for length it should be a little bit bellow your shoulders or longer for this cut, and your shortest layers should only be 1-3 inches long at the very top.....also teasing the top and flat at the bottom is a great style for this cut

My favorite is the first one (Cosmopolitan's). You can upload a picture of yourself, try on different celebrities hair styles, change the color, add highlights, etc. Once you have a good idea of the right hairstyle for you, you can print it out and take it to a salon. Hope that helps!

How much should you tip for a haircut?

I pay 16 dollars for a regular haircut / trim... without shampooing. My haircut usually takes about 10 minutes. If the guy can knock out 4 haircuts an hour that's a pretty nice chunk of change.. why do I feel the need to tip on top of that? How much should you tip for a haircut?
    HAIRSTYLIST/COLORIST

Average tip: 15 percent of total cost (post-tax).

Exceptional circumstances: If a stylist conquers a last-minute hair crisis or fits you in on a busy Saturday, tip $3 to $5 more.

Things to consider: In major metropolitan areas, it is customary to tip salon owners who cut your hair, too.How much should you tip for a haircut?
Depends on where you go...I say 10 percent!
is your stylist a booth renter or does he get paid commission? depending on the service received you should at least pay 10 or more percent . if he does some thing extra and doesnt charge you give him extra on top of that . thanks for tipping we hairstylists do appreciate it , oh by the puppy zwolle you are a cheap butthead
I tip mine about 2 dollars, depending on how satisfied I am. I pay $12 for a regular haircut and they do a decent job for that cost. I used to go elsewhere, pay $20 and it'd be a ripoff!

You're supposed to tip them because it's common courtesy.
For a good cut and style I usually tip 2-5 depending on what time they take to doing it. If it's a color or perm I usually tip 5-10 again depending on how good they are.
15 to 20 % depending on the service and your satisfaction
You tip for the extra service.. the talk, or the silence if you prefere that. If you are happy with the person, you tip. For the job you pay the fee.

How much? I have no clue. I never tip. I hate everybody who wants my money. Make it a buck, 2 if you are very happy. Don't bother thinking about 1.60$ Make it round numbers.

i also heard from a friend that the salon in the Sheraton hotel is good too...i think it's a lebanese guy....but,mostly u'll have to make an appointment b4 u go....

    good luck w/ur hair cut:)
heyy i go to milad 2 in sands hotel :D ! i got side bangs with pink highlights , oh ya n in the meridian is god too !
I live in dubai and as crazy as it sounds, I go to Abu dhabi just to have my hair cut. His name is milad and he works in sands hotel. He is the best hair dresser I have been to not only in the uae, but in the uk and canada too.
There are several places although I am not familier with them, my friends do go there though. I will be going this time around also.

I went to the one in Spinneys upstairs called Hairwaves, it is for women only and they seem to be professional enough- thats the impression I got.

The other places is called Changes, this is very popular. Not sure of the location though.

There is another on Airport road called Khaleej Salon I think, and almost everyone ( women ) goes there.
There isnt one. Fly to Europe.
you are screwed, blewed and tattooed!

How much should I tip for my haircut?

I'm getting my waist length hair trimmed 3 inches today. The salon is charging me $35. How much should I leave as a gratuity to the hairdresser? How much should I tip for my haircut?
    5 bucks is plenty!!!

This is about 15%...a standard acceptable tip amount.

$10 is like a 30% tip...if you love the job she does, then by all means give her 10, but this is quite a bit.How much should I tip for my haircut?
    $5
    People tip for haircuts?
    $5 :)
    5-8 dollars
I usually always tip 5 dollars. No matter what they're doing.
I think $5 is reasonable... It may also depend on where is the saloon. For example if it's in the center of the city or not.. Usually, if I go to get a haircut in the center, or at the mall, I leave a bigger tip.. :)

    Hope it's useful!
    five bucks
anywhere between 3-5 dollars if you want to get exact..

get them 15% by multiplying 35 with .15 which is.. 5.25
Shouldn't the $35 cover the cost of the service, I don't quite understand why a tip is needed here.
I never new you should tip the hairdresser!! I only tip delivery guys and waiters / waitresses. But, if he really did a good job, $5 - $10 should be OK.
Depends how much your haircut cost.

If it comes to over 50 bucks, why tip them so much?

However if your haircut is $12 or under and you can afford to tip them lets say 2 dollars or so, why not?

Unless of course you need the money for food or something.
i would personally say about how well she does if shes rude and not doing what you want only give her like a dollar.

or if shes nice about 7 bucks.
Depends on how good of a hair cut you think you got or how well you were treated. I would probably tip $5 for average service. But I have tipped $10 for a hair dresser that I thought was especially good.

If I thought the service was substandard, I would not tip at all!

The cost of the cut is strictly what the establishment charges and should not influence your tip amount.
the polite way to do it is to pay the hairdresser 20% of your bill, which in this case, is $7...but if you don't like it, tip her like $4. :] heheh...and tip the shampooer $1. i didn't like my hairdresser (she was a meanie and was really rude)...so i tipped her $3...heheheh. :] anyways...if it's just a trim, it shouldn't cost $35 in the first place...hope this helped! :D
$5-$7 and smile when you give it!!!
    7 bucks
    Nothin
how good of a job did she do? i would tip $5 bucks
    $5
    for 35 I give 10 dollars
well it depends on how good she did your hair and how accurate she was. If she did a bad job tip her like 2 dollars if she did a good job tip her like 4.50.
see how well they cut your hair if your happy tip them a bit more , if your not impressed dont tip.
it depends on what kind of haircut they give you if it's good $5 or if it's bad i'd say $2
10-20% is usually acceptable. you should also give the person who washes your hair..a small tip.
    15%

    like 4/5 dollars

How do i judge a good a haircut for my face?

i have a small oval face, dusky complexion and long straight black hair(it is very long, like up to my back) how do i judge which haircut suits me? i wan't the haircut to be simple and it shud concentrate more on the face. Is having a fringe a good idea? but i guess fringes don't suit for small faceand big body types. if u have any suggestions please tell me.How do i judge a good a haircut for my face?
Oval faces are considered ideal and generally look great with any cut. Oval faces do not normally need any ';corrections';.

So if you like fringe... go for it! If anything it will add movement to your hairstyle which is a plus! How do i judge a good a haircut for my face?
get a layered cut, it shows off your features and keeps your face looking soft %26amp; feminine. oval faces tend to pull off alot of different styles so there's alot of variety out there for ya. u could even try a long shag that's a cute style
Oval faces like you say you have will suit most styles. But from what you'vee said idprobablyy go for more of a side fringe as it will be more subtle around your face and wont look as blunt as a fringe.
there are books with haircuts. You have to make sure you have the shape face like the model. that will give you an idea of how it is going to look on you by the SHAPE of your face

    The cut is usually $65-$85.

But I also get it colored which is $150.

Should glasses be kept on during the haircut?

I recently started to wear my glasses all the time. I am about to have my hair cut in a few days. Should I keep my glasses on during the haircut or take them off?Should glasses be kept on during the haircut?
Keep them on or make sure your stylist knows you wear them a lot. Your cut might make and break whether they look good.Should glasses be kept on during the haircut?
Just let your stylist know that you usually wear glasses and if possible let her see the style of them. You have to take your glasses off during the cut so the stylist can reach all the hair. If you don't take them off, the stylist will catch them on her comb every time she runs the comb through your hair. It really would make the stylist's job a LOT harder.
take them off bc they get in the way if u dont then they'll just ask u to anyways. u dont have to see when u get ur hair cut so it dsnt matter if u can or not.

  • Is it possible to get a haircut that has lots of volume, even if you have long hair?

I have long hair, and every time I get it cut I find that there just isn't very much volum to it. I've tried using mousse and hairspray and even drying my hair up-side-down. Nothing works for me.Is it possible to get a haircut that has lots of volume, even if you have long hair?
Ick... i have the same problem.

Unfortunately, you have to sacrifice some volume for long hair- just the weight of it will do that. Long layers are fantastic, but if your hair is fine to begin with it can look choppy.

I use wide hot rollers all over or a fat curling iron (close to the roots with some Aveda hairspray... it's light weight) the bigger the better to add body without so much curl.

I also use a leave-in conditioner instead of a heavy cream in the shower. the leave-in protects your hair better while blow drying, anyway. But instead of blow drying upside down, try blow drying with a large round brush, instead. Also, If you don't have diffuser, it's really worth the investment... They will improve volume drastically. Is it possible to get a haircut that has lots of volume, even if you have long hair?
    Hello

If you have your hair long and layered - this will give more volume
You need lots of layers in it. Go to a really good salon, that they stylists know there stuff and when you tell them you want volume they know exactly what kind of cut to give you.
Try backcombing your hair. Just comb it backwards towards your scalp. That will make your hair huge no matter what hair style you have. =]
    Keep trying :)
yes have it texturized with texturizing scissors. then backcomb and hairspray to keep the volume. also, you can try a root boost, my fav is the root pump plus from bigsexyhair.
    LAYERS!
    layers

    lAyErS

    LAYERS
yeah! tell your stylist to add more volume and layers. they'll know how to do it!
get layers, get it thinned so that too much hair isn't weighing your hair down - it should make a tremendous difference, and curl it under so the curls will help to volumize. Also hair spray usually works best to volumize - other products will most likely weigh it down.

Where to get a good cheap haircut in the Netherlands?

I want to get a bob, nothing too special, but I've heard all sorts of horror stories about haircuts in the Netherlands and I can't afford to blow 45eur on a haircut. Someone recommended kappersakademie but I don't know about that. Those of you living in zuidholland, where do you go for haircuts?Where to get a good cheap haircut in the Netherlands?
This question was asked recently for Amsterdam and contains some good links: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

Anyway, I now also live in Zuid Holland, basically I would say the same as before - ie to just check out local hairdressers. All of them will be able to a bob without a problem.

One thing though, as I mentioned before - if you don't speak Dutch fluently, then I would urge caution (unless you are pretty relaxed about what you will end up with). Make sure what you can explain what cut you want, and that the hairdresser at least understands - just to avoid a disaster (which is a lot more expensive to correct!). That's the key to avoid a horror story - be clear, ensure the hairdresser understands, and watch what is going on.

You don't mention exactly where you live and so it's hard to advise as Zuid Holland is a pretty big area - but if it's Leiden/Den Haag where a lot of expats live, then you should find the English issue less of a problem..Where to get a good cheap haircut in the Netherlands?

Go to your local cosmetology school. The girls are trained and have a supervisor look over their work. Its a win-win for everyone! Don't let the price determine your haircut. You can get excellent cuts for cheap and bad haircuts can be expensive...it all depends on the person doing it for you!

Can a custodial parent legally do anything about non-custodial parent getting childs haircut?

Daughter wants her haircut, mother doesnt, but mother doesn't take care of it daughter does. Can a custodial parent legally do anything about non-custodial parent getting childs haircut?
Legally they cant do anything about it but the real issue here is it is the childs hair, the child takes care of it and the child wants it cut. If it is not a religion thing why the mother refuses to get it cut then go get some hairstyle magazines and let your daughter pick out a few she likes and then sit down like two adults and talk to the mother about it. Your daughter needs to explain why she wants it cut so it doesnt seem like it is you pushing her to do it. As a mom I hated it when my 10 year old wanted her hair cut off but she showed me how she wanted it and it was a cute haircut so eventually her and dad won and I gave in. If your daughter has really long hair she can also say she is getting it cut to give to Locks Of Love where they use the hair to make wigs for kids with cancer. Last resort would be to just go get it done. Once it is cut it is cut and it is hair and will grow back but you have to deal with the ex till it does. Can a custodial parent legally do anything about non-custodial parent getting childs haircut?
    Do a green mohawk.
As long as it is something nice and not a mowhawk dyed green or the head shaved then I would say it is fine
Why does this sound more like a battle amongst parents who cant get along than a child with a bad hair do?

When I hear language like this, the first three words that come to my mind are PARENTAL ALIENATION SYNDROME, someone is about to engage in that ugly tactic in this family dynamic, if one of you does not learn to PICK YOUR BATTLES, remember in elementary school, a touch, turns to a push, a push to a shove and shove to a fist a fist to a kick a kick to a knife a knife to gun a gun to a shovel... I ask you ,, where do you think bickering over a hair cut will lead to? which ever of you loves that child properly had better realize her hair cut is not the HILL UPON WHICH YOU WANT TO DIE! %26lt;metaphorically speaking%26gt;, ease back let it go and you will find when your child is combing your grand childs hair many many years from now, none of you will ever remember this day, unless you choose to win the battle over who has the last word on her hair ,,, Think about it!

    ';Children come here through us, not for us';

    Sincerely yours
I doubt there is a legal precedent out there that speaks directly to haircutting, but the best thing to do to keep everything civil is discuss it first with the other parent. Chances are, unless they are a very underhanded person, they will agree. If that doesn't work, however, talk to your child, (depending on the age). Otherwise, let it go. Hair will grow back, but hurt feelings from family fights rarely do, especially for your child.
Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do legally.

You can of course give them a good talking to!

My MIL gave our daughter the dodgiest fringe in the history of fringes once! When my partner asked her why, she said it's coz her hair kept falling over her face.

After that, whenever we sent her to her grandma's house, we'd tie her fringe back so it was away from her face, and also to get the message through that there are other ways to go about it!

She never cut the hair again!
The custodial parent should be responsible for ensuring that the child is free to decide. It's her own hair!
we cut my son's hair and his dad was going to take to court about it. it kind of depends on the parenting plan but the custodial parent makes the decisions.
    How old is the daughter????

If she is a teenager, the best thing to do is to come to a compromise.

Go halfway with the length, or if the daughter also wants to dye (often they do), then she gets to pick one or the other. If the color is too extreme, same thing, go somewhere in the middle.
Ummm, it's hair... It grows back and everything. There are probably ';bigger fish to fry'; in your life than a haircut...
OMG this is just like my ex husband and I, His mother my ex mother in law butchers my daughter hair by doing it herself. Even though i take my daughter to the hairdressers!! wow i shall be watching this question. I wish i knew then answer myself so i could stop her my daughter is only 4 so she doesnt know any different yet

  • Have you ever gotten a big haircut to signify a change in your life?

If so, did you feel empowered, or did you regret it? How did others react?Have you ever gotten a big haircut to signify a change in your life?
Great question. After high school, I started dating this guy that I had a major crush on. Everything was going good until he looked at me one night and said ';baby, don't ever cut your hair. I think long hair makes a woman.'; :-| It really started bothering me. The next weekend I chopped my hair off. It was short and spikey...very cute. I met up with him and he was speechless. I DARED him to tell me it wasn't cute.

He thought it was the sexiest and sassiest cut he'd ever seen. He admired my bravery for doing it (my hair was long for a long time). My head felt lighter, my confidence shot through the roof, and I definitely felt empowered! (And I married the guy)Have you ever gotten a big haircut to signify a change in your life?
I did after graduation. I had a hectic high school experience and I felt it was the definition of fresh start. I did feel empowered and sexy. I regretted it at first because it was a big change. Others thought it was a good change. I wasn't predictable anymore and I loved it.
yup, i cut my hair short after a depressing stage and let it grow when i'm feeling great again.

i always ask for cuts that suit me so everyone loves my hair. that's actually the key. you have to love your new hair cut or else it will just make you feel worse.
Well i didn't cut my hair but i changed the hair color. I went from light brown with blonde highlights to black hair I LOVED IT!!! I did this after breaking up with my ex....best thing i ever did!!! If u r considering cutting ur hair u should do it!!!
no, that has never happened to me before

probably because i don't think the haircut is what is needed... but more on a change in views

I cut my hair ever time I feel depressed. It doesn't make me feel better, though. there have been years I came close to total baldness! ;)
you need a change of mindset.

    nothingelse matter
    Never done it before.
Britney Spears tried shaving her head and look wat happened...
Yep. It makes me feel a whole new person.

What is the best kind of haircut for course, asian hair?

Im thinking about getting the scene haircut, and i need some pics to show my hair stylist?

Im 13, and im looking for a decent scene haircut. My hair is a medium brown-ish color with blond highlights. And my hair is about maybe 5 or 6 inches below my shoulder. And i cant dye my hair, just get it cut. Any pictures would help.Im thinking about getting the scene haircut, and i need some pics to show my hair stylist?
Posers!Im thinking about getting the scene haircut, and i need some pics to show my hair stylist?
I have scene hair and from experince let me tell yo it like this:

most scene kids cut their own hair and thats really aweome, but if your like me and anything you cut turns to crap id get your haristylist to do it. most hairstlyists dont get it and dont get it right, so be prepaired to explain extensivly that you want layers like **** and wnat all the layers diffrent sizes and ask for some one inch layers... they end up cutting more closely to what you want. and you can ask them to cut it with a razor [ONLY IF U HAVE STRAIGHT HAIR NATURALLY]

go to google and type in scene girl, or scene hair... lots of options.

and you can fix it if they mess up. but if u have sholder legnth hair make sure they dont cut it all off
I got my hair cut at Paul Mitchelle. They did a GREAT job. When u first come out, it doesnt look like the desired way, but after u flat iron it and tease it, it will(:

Tell them u want triangle layers, starting with the middle of ur hair and up. leave the middle and down normal and long (tell them not to cut that part) tell them u want the top layer to be short.

then when u get home, flat iron it ALL, and tease the layers.
you can get a razor comb from sallys beauty supply ans razor the top and leave a basic length thats thinner then the rest but the longest chances are you will f it up if you dont have a scene kid to help you your first time im scene and i still cut to much off sometimes but i no how to cover up a f up
Scene kids do their hair alone...

i'm edging into the scene look too; move too fast and people will call you a scene-wannabe... sad but true. so start with looking at youtube videos and copy them. use scissors and cut in a downward motion, some people use razors but that's really really REALLY bad for your hair.

so yeah :) edge into it, layering more every couple of weeks :) best of luck

    x
    dont go to a hairstylist

    they'll f it up.

    they always do

find a scene kid who does there own hair

How do you get a good haircut?

I'm poor and either cut my own hair or my mom does it, with a kit that has everything. Is there some sort of special technique to having a good haircut? I always end up looking like a porcupine, my hair sorta sticks out and looks lame. How do you get a good haircut?
Maybe at this place called bed head or paul mittchellHow do you get a good haircut?
Your best bet would be a professional hairdresser. But since you can't afford it, then here's what you should do...find pictures of simple haircut online that your mom could do for you. Maybe a V-cut ( Not blunt.)
